We have two re-enactments coming up at Fort Harrison - the first on July 17 - Viet Nam Experience - A Living History ( registration availabe on our web site at www.m20cwinfo.org ) and the second is WWII Days on Oct 2. Both have a public battle at 2 pm on the Saturday and a camp both days for the public to tour from 10 - 4. A thank you dinner is served on Saturday night and camping and flushies available. THis is our third full year of hosting re-enactments. Battle of the Bulge kicks it off each January, then Eastern Front in March. Viet Nam in July and ETO WWII in October. On the Halloween weekend, we have a fun free for all, with soldiers entertaining our guests by inhabiting the woods.

Thinking about the menu for the Viet Nam event, thinking it is a BBQ ham and hot dog weekend. Now that we can cook in the museum, we can have the hot food going while the museum is closing up and have it ready to serve at 1830 - 1900 hours. Having the stove and oven is a great advantage.

Registrations for the Viet Nam event are starting to come in to the museum, we have chosen the battle site, for the Friday night tactical as well, and we are following up on a couple of food sponsors.

What a great weekend. The public comments have been great, and for a twist on the event, our Viet Nam re-enactment attracted protesters. A lot of the public thought they were part of the realism of the event. Always an adventure!!!!

Viet Nam was a great weekend and we are looking forward to the next one. In between, we have the Hoosier Outdoor experience the third weekend in Sept. Check out DNR's site for more information. It was great fun last year.
