Scenario is HÜrtgen Forest Units involved from Sept 44 to Feb 45. Units involved: Allied: 1st INF, 3rd Armored, 4th, 8th, 9th, 28th, 78th, 83rd INF, 5th, 7th Armored, 366th Fighter Group, 82nd Airborne. Axis: 3rd Fallschirmjager, 12th Volksgrenadier, 89th INF, 116th Panzer, 272nd Volksgrenadier, 275th, 344th, 353rd INF Fri Eve. Registration open from 5pm to 9pm Germans can set up camp specified area Allies can set up camp in specified areas. Unit Commanders meeting at 2100 Sat. morning tactical S&A (Axis) 08:00, move to the field at 08:30 S&A (Allies) 08:30, move to field at 09:00 Battle over at 12:00 Public battle S&A 13:00 move to battle field at 13:30 Battle at 14:00 Sun. morning Tactical S&A (Axis) 08:00 move to the field at 08:30 S&A (Allies) 08:30 move to the field at 09:00 Battle over at TBA There will not be a public battle on Sunday, but we will have Living History Displays!Clean up an tear down at15:00 Attachments:

Today is the last day for pre-registration... we will be offering registration on Friday evening from 5-9 and again on Saturday morning before the Germans leave for S & A, which will be from 7-8. You can come see me if you arrive after these hours, I should be in camp Friday evening and Saturday.

There have been some questions raised on the costs for the event:
Because of the All Airborne Event the original price of $20.00 was needed to cover portalets and bottled water because you were going to be out in the field and would not have access to facilities. The preregistration form we were using and which was posted back in January, was for the original event, when we had to postpone the event we did not update the registration forms, thus the dollar difference from $20 down to $15.00. I do apologize for the error I didn't catch it until it was pointed out to me last nite.
We do have access to public facilities in one of the buildings, as the Musuem will be used for public use for their visitors and NOT OUR USE. Anyone requiring the use of electronic devices will also be able to stay in the building for overnite. We also have a food vendor who will be there for Saturday and Sunday so you do not have to bring or prepare your own meals. The coordinators tried to keep the cost as low as possible for the reenactor. If you have any further questions please direct them to Dave or Alan.

AAR for Hurtgen Forest Event
Despite the lack of sunshine on Saturday morning with some cold rain and cool temperatures, the day ended up pretty nice. The tactical battle started a bit later than planned but the guys still managed to get some time out on the field. Had several comments about the area they were in and all sounded positive!
The public came out to watch the public battle about 2 and they stopped and visited with us in the Living History area as well. Several little ones have an interest in History. It's that little spark that hopefully we can help season into helping them do what we do when they are older!
Overall it was a very nice weekend. Lots of campfire time and having some fun with friends. Thank you to all who helped participate and hope you enjoyed yourselves as well.
